From the opening moments, Slough were very much in control, banging in four goals in 13 minutes and prompting Tigers Martin Clarkson to leave his crease, with Declan Ryan taking up netminding duties for the remainder of the game.
The switch seemed to settle Telford for the rest of the first period, and Joe Henry gave the home fans hope with a sweet shorthanded goal at 20:57. However the joy was shortlived as Jets restored the deficit within half a minute on the powerplay.
They stretched that lead to 6-1 before two inspiring goals from Daniel MacKriel hauled Tigers back into contention.
Again, the visitors went on the rampage, capitalising on every Tigers slip-up to add two more goals against before young Adam Taylor found a finishing touch at 38:15 to record his first goal for the senior side.
A sorry-looking Telford team limped on through the third period, threatening briefly, but unable to stop Jets taking their tally to ten.
Afterwards, player-coach Tom Watkins said: "We didn't play Saturday and sometimes when you've had a night off it takes you a little bit longer to get into the game. And tonight that meant we were already chasing the game, after ten minutes.
"I asked the guys for a bit of character and to hang in there, to play with a bit more grit and not give up easy goals, which unfortunately we didn't manage.
"We've played very strong over the past few weeks, so hopefully this is just a blip and we can refocus ourselves for our final weekend.
"I don't think we lost because we're not good enough, just that we weren't good enough tonight."
Despite having little the smile about the result, Watkins was satisfied with the performance put in by under-18s prospect player Adam Taylor.
"I've known and worked with Adam for a long time and he is a natural talent," said Watkins.
"It's a shame really that he hasn't played more for us this season, because he's done really well when he has played. He keeps it simple and he's very quick, skates very well, that's his big plus point.
"He's done everything we've asked of him and turned out for us when we've asked him at short notice, so I'm really pleased for him."
Tigers travel to Guildford on Saturday, with the Flames making a return visit for Telford's final league game of the season on Sunday (5.30pm).
