Telford Tigers have been ordered to be "switched on in defence" against Slough Jets and Basingstoke Bison this weekend as player-coach Tom Watkins looks to stem a flow of high-scoring games.
Defeats to Milton Keynes Lightning and Manchester Phoenix last weekend saw Telford concede 15 goals - their poorest defensive display of the season.
The loss to Manchester will have been particularly hard to swallow, with Telford scoring five times themselves.
Saturday's opponents Slough boast one of the highest scoring records in the English Premier League, and Watkins is aware of his side's need to be defensively minded.
He said: "Every team in this league is beatable, but we have to be better defensively than last weekend. We scored five goals, but when you conceded eight, it is very disappointing.
"Our offense need to be more switched on to their defensive role. I am disappointed in our defensive mindset, from forwards to defence.
"The forwards forgot their role in terms of defence last weekend and it was a massive loss for us."
Sunday's opponents Basingstoke have an equally ominous scoring record, but with a higher figure in the goals against column, the signing of Tom Castle may prove to be a masterstroke.
Watkins added: "Hopefully, it will be the first time in a while when we have had a completely full squad. Sometimes when you are short the guys try to do to much, and are doing jobs they don't normally do, It would be good to have a full line-up."
Castle has been cleared to play this weekend and with no injuries elsewhere, Telford will boast a fully-fit lineup.
Saturday's match at Slough starts at 6.30pm, while Sundays encounter in Telford faces off at 5.30pm.
