Telford Tigers Corporate Information

Telford Tigers Info

There are three main Ice Hockey leagues within the United Kingdom; the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL), and the English National Ice Hockey League (ENIHL). The EPIHL is a semi-professional league only allowing four non-British trained players with the ENIHL being a development league.

The Telford Tigers currently operate within the EPIHL. The Tigers enjoy a fantastic national reputation as a club that has developed some of the best young talent in the country and abroad. The English Hockey League is now in position to get fully syndicated mainstream television access.

The Telford Tigers are now looking for one headline sponsor and a number of key partners to support their expansive development. The opportunities for any partners are substantial based upon sales driven strategy involving a vast array of PR positioning opportunities, sales promotions, corporate hospitality, employee incentives and loyalty schemes.

The Tigers are blessed with having some of the best supporters across the league, with the devotion and loyalty shown over the years being truly inspiring. The team is now playing great hockey under the guidance of ‘local legend’ French Canadian player coach Claude Dumas with the teams’ ambition to be number one in the country.

League Structure and Team Distribution

The EPIHL season runs from the beginning of September until April of the following year and for another six weeks for the teams that qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs will be contested by the top 8 teams in the league. As a rule games are played generally either home or away every Saturday and Sunday evening.

This current season there will be 10 teams competing in the EPIHL covering most of England with each team playing a minimum of 54 games. The new ENL league is directly below the EPL, and will ensure a smooth transition for players from junior Telford teams through to the top level. These will play in excess of 26 games also. Telford Tigers believe in primarily developing locally talented players from within our own community.

Fan Base Demographic

Ice Hockey in Britain has the highest attendances of any indoor sport. It also benefits from being one of the few sports that is supported by an equal number of female and male supporters, compared to only 12% of females attending Premiership Football league games. Recent studies have shown that adults (18+) make up 46% of the total gate while 21% are juniors and family groups account for a further 24%. This is truly a sport that appeals to all ages and demographic groups which means the potential targeting of the consumer is a brands dream.

We here at Telford Tigers can develop a specific sales strategy to develop awareness for your products and services that actually drives sales. We understand how to deliver and provide a mechanism for the measurement and management of campaigns.

Telford Tigers have the opportunity to become the best attended and followed club in the country due to its location and reputation. Telford is the only team playing within the Midlands region and further south meaning our catchment area is vast covering many millions of consumers.

Our attendance is growing at a rate of over 30% year on year but we will not stop there, we want yearly growth of 100% until the rink is sold out for all home games

Tigers active in the Community

Telford Tigers PDSA Teddy TossTelford Tigers endeavour to get out and about in the local community. This can range from school visits to promote healthy lifestyles and sport to our very own Ice Zone facility. A government run project of “Playing for Success”.

In 2005 we joined forces with Telford and Wrekin Council and DFES (Department of Education and Skills) to create a new study centre at Telford Ice Rink. The new Ice Zone is fitted with state of the art IT equipment. Hundreds of children each year from schools all across the town get to learn all about the Tigers whilst also developing there fundamental language and mathematics skills.

Telford Tigers remain committed to aid the education of the children that attend the centre.
